If you are thinking about getting a Stryd membership and you want an experienced runner’s opinion on it, this guide is for you.
Running is a very powerful activity that not only helps you stay in shape but also improves your stamina. These days, we have advanced smartwatches such as Apple Watch and Samsung Galaxy Watch which allow us to accurately track our running sessions.
These smartwatches are great for getting general information, but if you want more advanced insights, devices like Stryd come in handy. Stryd has recently launched its membership plans and I’ll tell you if it’s worth your attention.
In this WearToTrack guide, I’ll cover the following topics.
- Does the Stryd Membership provide value to runners?
- Can you use Stryd without a membership?
- And many more!
Before I get to the topic, please let me tell you a bit about myself. As a seasoned runner, I’ve been using Stryd Since 2016.
As a long-time Stryd User, I have a good understanding of the Stryd ecosystem and can provide an honest opinion on the Stryd Membership. By the end of this guide, you will know if Stryd Membership is for you.

Is The Stryd Membership A Good Choice For Runners?
Stryd is arguably one of the best gadgets for runners and being a seasoned runner, I’m very happy with it.
The new Stryd Membership comes with some additional features which allow experienced and professional runners to build their own workouts and use them.
In my opinion, Stryd Membership is great and it comes with a lot of value but it’s not for me because I’m very happy with the features that I get with the regular plan. So, unless you want to get some deep insights on your running sessions and want to build your own workouts, I don’t think you will get good value with the Stryd Membership.
However, if you are a professional runner or a more seasoned runner who wants to take his running technique to the next level, you should consider Stryd Membership.
With Stryd Membership, you will get the ability to build your own workouts or you can use the pre-built workout collection to get access to advanced workouts. Also, you will get automated post-run insights which will tell you a lot about your running technique and other aspects of running.
In Short, if you are an experienced runner and you want to take your running technique to the next level, Stryd Membership will be a good investment for you. However, if you are a casual runner like me, Stryd Membership won’t be very useful for you.

Do You Need A Membership With Stryd?
No, Stryd Membership is completely optional and you can keep using Stryd without the Stryd Membership.
The Membership is designed for more seasoned and pro runners and you should only get it if you are an experienced runner. However, if you are a beginner or casual runner, you don’t need the Stryd Membership.
Conclusion
Stryd Membership is a very useful subscription for pro and seasoned runners but I don’t think that casual and beginners get good value out of it.
So, if you are a casual runner, you can keep using Stryd without the membership. However, if you are a pro or seasoned runner, you should consider getting the Stryd Membership because it will offer you great value.
