Short answer: no Fitbit and no Garmin watch measures blood pressure from your wrist. What you can do is pair your Fitbit or Garmin with a proper cuff, or use a watch with an ECG app for heart rhythm checks. Below we explain what each brand offers today and which devices give you real blood pressure readings in the same app you already use.

Can Fitbit Measure Blood Pressure?
No. Fitbit tested blood pressure tracking in research studies, but no Fitbit or Google Pixel Watch measures blood pressure in the US. Fitbit’s heart features are heart rate, resting heart rate, heart rate variability, irregular rhythm notifications and, on supported models such as the Sense 2 and Charge 6, an FDA-cleared ECG app that checks for signs of atrial fibrillation (AFib).
If you use Fitbit, the practical setup is a Bluetooth cuff whose app syncs with Google Health or Health Connect, plus a Fitbit for activity, sleep and heart rhythm.
Can Garmin Measure Blood Pressure?
Not from the watch. Garmin solves it differently: it sells its own cuff, the Index BPM, which logs readings straight into Garmin Connect next to your training and sleep data. Several Garmin watches, including the Venu 3, also have an FDA-cleared ECG app in the US.
What About Other Smartwatches?
Some smartwatches advertise blood pressure on the box. Treat those numbers with caution. Samsung offers blood pressure tracking with cuff calibration in some countries, but it is not FDA-cleared in the US. In 2025 Apple received FDA clearance for hypertension notifications on recent Apple Watch models. The watch looks for patterns over weeks that suggest high blood pressure and tells you to check with a cuff. It does not show a blood pressure number.
Many budget “blood pressure watches” sold online estimate values from optical sensors without any validation. A validated upper-arm cuff is still the standard doctors trust.

Best Blood Pressure Monitors for Fitbit and Garmin Users
1. Garmin Index BPM
If you train with a Garmin, this is the obvious pick. The Index BPM is an FDA-cleared upper-arm cuff that uploads readings to Garmin Connect over Wi-Fi or Bluetooth. Your blood pressure history sits next to resting heart rate, stress and sleep, which makes trends easy to spot. It supports multiple users, so a household can share one cuff.
What we like
- Readings land in Garmin Connect automatically
- Wi-Fi sync, no phone needed after setup
- Multiple users
Keep in mind
- Most useful if you already use Garmin
2. Withings BPM Connect
Withings BPM Connect is a compact, FDA-cleared cuff with a small screen and Wi-Fi sync. The Withings app can share data with Apple Health and with Google services, which makes it a good partner for a Fitbit or Pixel Watch. Readings are color-coded so you see at a glance whether you are in range.
What we like
- Wi-Fi and Bluetooth
- Shares data with other health apps
- Compact and easy to store
Keep in mind
- Withings app needed for full history
3. OMRON Complete
The OMRON Complete takes a blood pressure reading and a single-lead EKG at the same time. The EKG uses technology from AliveCor and can detect possible AFib. If your doctor wants you to watch both blood pressure and heart rhythm, this saves buying two devices.
What we like
- Blood pressure and EKG in one device
- FDA-cleared
- Readings saved in the OMRON Connect app
Keep in mind
- Bulkier than a basic cuff
4. OMRON Evolv
The Evolv puts the monitor on the cuff itself, so there are no tubes and nothing on the table. It is easy to use on your own and syncs to the OMRON Connect app over Bluetooth. OMRON is the brand most doctors recommend for home monitors.
5. Greater Goods Bluetooth Monitor
A simple, accurate upper-arm cuff that syncs to the free Balance Health app. It is a good choice if you just want reliable readings and a history you can export for your doctor.
Best Fitbit and Garmin Watches for Heart Health
Fitbit Sense 2
The Sense 2 has an FDA-cleared ECG app, irregular rhythm notifications, stress tracking and skin temperature trends. It does not measure blood pressure, but paired with a cuff above it covers the main heart metrics at home.
Garmin Venu 3
The Venu 3 is Garmin’s health-focused smartwatch: bright AMOLED screen, sleep coaching, Body Battery and long battery life. In the US it supports Garmin’s FDA-cleared ECG app. Pair it with the Index BPM and all your heart data lives in Garmin Connect.
How to Take an Accurate Reading at Home
- Sit quietly for five minutes with your back supported and feet flat.
- Use an upper-arm cuff of the right size, at heart level, on bare skin.
- Do not talk, and avoid caffeine, exercise and smoking for 30 minutes before.
- Take two readings a minute apart and record both.
- Measure at the same times each day and share the history with your doctor.
Frequently Asked Questions
Which Fitbit is best for blood pressure?
None measure it. For heart health, the Sense 2 and Charge 6 offer an ECG app. Pair either with a Bluetooth cuff for blood pressure.
Do Garmin watches have blood pressure monitoring?
No. Garmin uses the Index BPM cuff, which syncs into Garmin Connect.
Can a smartwatch detect heart problems?
Watches with an FDA-cleared ECG app can detect signs of AFib, and irregular rhythm notifications can prompt you to get checked. They do not detect heart attacks and are not a replacement for medical care.
Bottom Line
Fitbit and Garmin watches do not measure blood pressure. For Garmin users, the Index BPM is the cleanest solution. For Fitbit and Apple users, Withings BPM Connect is the easiest cuff to live with. If you also need heart rhythm checks, the OMRON Complete covers both.
