What are Common Dexcom G6 Connectivity Problems?
The most common issue with Dexcom G6 is the “Signal Loss” issue, which is very common if your smartphone is not within the range of the transmitter. So, if you ever get the “Signal Loss Alert,” you can do the following things to fix this issue.
· Make sure that your device is near your body so that the transmitter could transfer the data. Normally, it should solve the problem.
· If the problem persists, it could be due to the fact that you have closed Dexcom G6 App on your smartphone. Open it and check again.
· If the problem is still there, turn off your Bluetooth connection and then turn it on. Now, wait for a few minutes and let the device establish a connection.
· The last resort here is to switch off your smartphone and then turn it on. Now, open the Dexcom G6 App, and it should solve the problem.
If the problem is still there, it could be due to the Receiver issue. Open the Dexcom G6 App, go to settings, and tap Transmitter info. Now make sure that the Transmitter ID and activation Date is verified. If it’s not verified, verify it, and the system should start working. If you are experiencing signal loss frequently, you can contact Dexcom Customer Support as it could be due to a faulty device.
How Long Does Dexcom G6 Transmitter Last?
Normally, the Dexcom G6 Transmitter lasts for 3 months, provided that you use it within the 5 months since the day it arrived at your location. Once this period is over, you will need a new Dexcom G6 Transmitter.
Can you wear Dexcom G6 Longer than 10 Days?
Yes, Dexcom G6 Transmitter is designed to be used for 90 days, so you can surely wear it longer than 10 days.
How Often Does Dexcom G6 Check Blood Sugar?
The Official website of Dexcom doesn’t specify the frequency of the sensor, but it does mention that the device sends the data to the smartphone every 5 minutes. So, it’s safe to assume that Dexcom G6 check blood sugar at least 1 (possibly more) every 5 minutes.
Can I Wear Dexcom G6 in Shower?
Yes, you can wear Dexcom G6 in the shower provided that if the transmitter is properly installed. The Dexcom G6’s transmitter is waterproof, and you can easily use it on beaches and pools as well.
Is the Receiver of Dexcom G6 waterproof?
No, the receiver of Dexcom G6 is not waterproof, and you should protect it from water as water can potentially damage the receiver.
Can the Dexcom G6 be worn on the arm?
Apparently, there are no restrictions about where you can wear Dexcom G6, but it’s mainly designed to be worn on the tummy or upper side of the buttocks. However, you can wear it on your arms as well, and some people claim that the Dexcom G6 is more accurate on Arms, but again it can be an exception. I’d recommend you to wear it on your tummy or upper side of the buttocks.
Is Dexcom G6 good for Type 2 Diabetes?
